Wine and Avocados

It takes a crane for me to frequent virtually any farmer’s market in Los Angeles if only because the overpriced God’s eye jewelry and hemp candles make me wonder what they’re doing there amongst avocados and tomatoes. People love farmer’s markets for reasons other than the fresh picked flowers but I’m not one of ‘em. However, one farmer’s market you should not miss is Culver City’s Tuesday showing. Added bonus? One of the best wine bars in LA is waiting for you and your spoils at the end of the block.
Bring your friends and start early at the top of Main Street. Create your own appetizer plate by grazing on smoked gouda, fresh snap peas, ripe strawberries and house cured meats while walking past Culver City’s Finest (seriously, their firemen and policemen are all here and they’re hotter than the fires they put out).
End your journey by grabbing a perch at Bottle Rock and select a bottle from their 200+ strong list. The people watching alone from their generous cafe windows are enough to guarantee you’ll be back at this Farmer’s Market for many months to come.

I agree. When I worked at Sony we used to try and walk down there Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately for me, this was before the upswing on great restaurants and bars that is currently taking place there. Beautiful market on its own though.
